Creative Powers for Europe, November 22th, 2016, Sweden

Sweden Proudly Presents and Welcomes You to Creative Powers for Europe!

Participate in a day of bold discussions and fresh ideas for moving the cultural and creative sectors in Europe forward. In doing so we will take steps towards sustainable development. The national and regional authorities that are the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, the Swedish Arts Council and Region Skåne are pleased to invite you to Creative Powers for Europe!

The cultural and creative industries (CCIs) represent an incredible force for innovation. Culture and humanism are essential in tackling Europe’s current challenges. Creative Powers for Europe will be an idea convention for discovering new ways of supporting our cultural and creative industries in contributing to the social, economic and environmental values we need, now more than ever. Join us for engaging panel discussions, workshops, talks, new collaborations and truly inspirational examples of best-practice from across Europe. You will meet thought-leaders, government representatives, regional and national policymakers, as well as other key players and influencers in culture, education, environmental policy and more, from Sweden and across Europe. In Sweden, and elsewhere in Europe, great efforts have been made to strengthen the CCIs. However, there is still more to be done and we are convinced that together, we can learn from each other and take further steps. This day aims to strengthen cooperation and promote the process of the cultural and creative sectors. The ideas will be summarized and documented, and will hopefully continue to grow and be realized. It is time to really incorporate culture into environmentally, economically and socially sustainable development.

The number of participants are limited to 300 persons. Since we strive for a geographical and organisational balance amongst the participants, you will receive a final confirmation of your participation by September at the latest. The convention is free of charge, however we apply a no-show fee.
