International conference on research cooperation in the arctic in Arkhangelsk

The conference “Integrated Research and Cooperation in the Arctic: Collaboration between Universities, Academic and Industrial Scientific Organizations” will be held on 26-27 February 2015 at Northern Arctic Federal University (NArFU), Arkhangelsk.

The conference goal is to provide a platform for discussion of integrated research in the Arctic aimed at accomplishment of a wide range of scientific and social tasks favouring the Arctic territories. Key topics of the conference are environmental monitoring and climate change in the Arctic; knowledge and technology transfer in the development of the Arctic territories; and challenges of monitoring and forecasting social and economic situation of the Arctic territories.

The conference is organised by Russian Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations; Russian Geographical Society; Russian Agency for Hydrometeorology Roshydromet; Government of the Arkhangelsk Region; and Northern Arctic Federal University (NArFU).

The conference programme is under way and will be published later on.

Participants: Researchers, teachers, authorities, business, students, media and other interested parties. Conference’s working languages are Russian and English.

NArFU is now looking for foreign participants. Foreign participants are also invited to participate distantly with video-recorded and online presentations.

Registration deadline is 30 January 2015. The participation fee is 1500 RUB and will be paid upon arrival.
