Late 2016, NordForsk will launch a new instrument for Nordic university co-operation, with a call for proposals open to Nordic universities and university colleges that perform research. The overall goal of the new funding instrument is to strengthen international competitiveness and facilitate the development of world leading research environments in the Nordic region.
The new instrument will provide funding for activities that facilitate co-operation within selected areas of high quality, strengthening the excellence of the academic field and providing Nordic added value. The collaboration should be supported by the strategies of the collaborating universities, and include for example mobility, guest-researchers, workshops, seminars, conferences, and higher education.
Nordic universities and university colleges that perform research are eligible to apply. Participation from at least three different Nordic countries is obligatory.
The NordForsk budget for the call is MNOK 20 annually in total, with a requirement of long-term contributions from the participating universities or university colleges. The funding is competitive and time limited, and it is expected that 5-7 consortia of Nordic universities and/or university colleges that perform research will be funded.
Further details and specifications will be given when the full call text is published in NordForsk website.
