Call opens in May/June 2014
NordForsk hereby issues a preannouncement for a Call within the newly established Nordic Programme on Health and Welfare. Appr. 120 MNOK will be shared between three to five large-scale projects, running for five years.
The Call will be issued in May/June with application deadline in mid-September 2014. This preannouncement aims to encourage Nordic researchers and research institutions to start preparing for the Call in terms of identifying in particular Nordic partners.
The Nordic Call will target challenges related to explaining and reducing inequalities in the distribution of health and societal capacities. Intervention and prevention studies in the context of the Nordic welfare societies and their sustainability are important. Study targets may include: Aging, education, ethnicity, gender, life style inclusive of physical activity, and working life, including retirement conditions. Applications should have a multidisciplinary approach. Priority will be given to applications that clearly indicate relevance for policy and implementation.
The Programme will in the autumn of 2014 announce an additional Call addressing construction and utilization of existing Nordic data resources in concert, i.e for building joint Nordic registers and databases for research purposes. More information on this additional call will be available at www.nordforsk.org early autumn.
